Mary Trask
Miraculously healed as a five-year-old after being hit by a car, Mary knew deep inside that there was a God who spared her life for some reason and it was her desire to discover just what that purpose was. Raised in a religious home, while growing, she worked hard to “be good,” but nothing seemed to bring her much lasting joy. Continually tormented by fear, Mary lived in a world where unreasonable shyness prevented her from enjoying much life outside of her immediate family, though she carefully observed much of what was going on around her.
Upon entering high school, she came to the conclusion that “being good” did not bring happiness, so it was time to experiment on the other side of the fence. It didn’t take long for her to see that there was no life in that field either. The only temporary escape Mary seemed to find from her own emptiness was in the make-believe world of acting.
In 1970, while babysitting some children in the park, a couple of young men approached and began talking about Jesus in a way she had never heard before. Instead of historical stories of what Jesus did in the past, she heard current events where Jesus was actively moving, healing, and changing lives of people every day!
More out of curiosity than anything else, she decided to attend something called “a prayer meeting” to see if all the reported miracles were true. At the end of one meeting, another young man approached and asked Mary if she wanted to invite Jesus into her life. Once she agreed, a group gathered around to pray. The power of God hit her in a dramatic way as He revealed who He was and how much He loved her. Mary shook for hours as the love of God poured over her in waves. When it was all over, she was a completely transformed person.
The remaining years of high school and then college took on a whole new spin as Mary stepped out of the old fears and began boldly witnessing to the love and power of God wherever she went. Soon others, like herself, were drawn to the great joy of life found in the love of the Father through His Son, Jesus. Both bodies and hearts were healed as they prayed!
In 1979, John and Mary met at a local prayer meeting. By 1980, they married, had children and continued to share the joy found in Jesus in a number of ways including music, speaking, teaching, and in the written word. In 2009, Mary published her first book, “The 12 Gemstones of Revelation,” followed by her second book, “Weapons of Peace” in 2011.
Mary’s burning desire has always been to continue her discovery in the love of the Heavenly Father and then to share her joys with others. This being said, it is her plan to continue writing, speaking, and testifying of the many ways Jesus desires to bring great peace and joy into all our lives. It is assured that many more books will be published in the future so that the good news of the gospel can further impact as many people as possible!
